Why Believe in Blockchain?

I usually don't talk about crypto space, but today I would like to express my views on it, especially when there is extreme fear in the market. It's important to be hopeful of new technologies and the future it holds, especially when it has a possibility to impact billions around the world. Today it's no less than a revolution focused around finance, store of value, new internet, digital assets, metaverse, etc., This is the new world and time to embrace it.

What excites me about this space is "decentralization" -- a world not in the mercy of any monopolistic institution. Resources are owned and shared by network members (no single entity can own), fault tolerance is high, offers anonymity and extremely secure. Today we can lend, borrow, stake, save, trade -- thanks to DeFi (Decentralized Finance)

Metaverse - this is a game changer at different levels. This is not another VR solution, it's not about entering a virtual world to play games or earn collectibles -- in the next decade this is where the highest economic activity will happen. Companies will rush to metaverse to advertise their products and services. You can probably be in relationship with someone in Japan or Korea and live together in virtual world. Businesses will be setup, virtual governments will be formed; If you think online businesses closed all mom-and-pop shops, be on a look-out for what metaverse is going to do. In 2021 Ethereum did more than $7 trillion in transactions, which is three times India GDP -- let that sink in.

As this technology unfolds, regulation becomes a necessity, but because of the decentralized nature there is very little any government can do. Combating money laundering, investor protection, consumer protection, taxation, contract auditing, KYC regulation should be the core area of focus.
